What's New at the Newcomers' Centre

We are currently accepting registration for the following trainings for Women:

Menu Planning and Food Costing Workshop (Wednesdays, August 7, 14, 21 from 10am-1pm)

Food Handler Certification Training (Thursday, August 22 from 10am-3pm)

Cake Decoration Training (Mondays, September 16, 23, 30, Oct 7, 21, 28, Nov 4, 11 from 10am-1pm)

How to Start a Catering Business (Wednesdays, September 18, 25, Oct 2, 9 from 10am-1pm)

Please note that certificates will ONLY be received if ALL sessions have been attended by the participant.

We are accepting registration to our Summer Youth Program for youth between 11-14 years old.  Register now!!!

We are hiring youth staff between 18-30 years old to fill in our summer job positions at the Newcomers' Centre.   










Food Tasting and Networking Event:  We are showcasing the products of our women who joined the Cake Decoration, Catering and Small Business Trainings.  Let's have a Tea Party!!! This is a free event!

STAR Project Evaluation

Events and Resources for Newcomers

We just finished our first cohort of Cake Decoration Training.  Twenty women have been trained and are now being assisted to establish their own business at home.  We are now recruiting a new set of participants for our second Cake Decoration Training.  For more information please call Bobbi at 416-292-6912 ext. 335




Coats for Kids Event - November 28th 2018

Newcomer kids received winter coats from the Knights of Columbus and Meridian as part of the yearly Coats for Kids Program.
